Thespian Troupe Program
Troupe # 12038
What
An opportunity for the Imagine community to build skills in leadership under the banner of The International Thespian Society. This group of troupe students will gather weekly to achieve goals set by the Troupe Director(s), and participate in state and national level events sharing and showcasing their skills. This troupe is an opportunity for Imagine Students to come together as a community, and share in the larger theatre community of Oregon and beyond!
Thespian students get to participate in things like:
When
Thespians will meet weekly, exact day to be determined by input from families who fill out the interest form. Either Wednesday evening or Thursday evening from 6pm-7pm (sometimes longer depending on project rehearsals/organizing.)
Being a part of a troupe is typically a year long commitment/process. Students should anticipate attending at least 2-4 meetings per month to stay active - more specifics on this to be shared at a later date. A schedule of meetings and events will be provided at the start of the year.
Who
Any Imagine students (who have participated in Imagine programming other than Thespians within the last 12 months) who are either grades 6-8 (Jr. Thespian eligible) or grades 9-12 (Thespian Eligible).
Please note that if your school has an active Thespian Troupe, your student must first be inducted into that troupe, and get permission from the school's Troupe Director to participate with Imagine’s Troupe per the ITS guidelines.
If you are unsure if your school has an active troupe, or have other questions, please email Associate Troupe Director Louis Kruse [email protected]
Cost
Imagine Theatre does not charge any fees for students to be a part of the Imagine Theatre Thespians. There are fees charged by the State & National associations for workshop/conference attendance, formal induction into the society, etc. See more below.
Imagine does not want families to be dissuaded from participating due to finances. The Directors will provide scholarship options through Imagine prior to the events.
