Overview:
This fall, Portland Opera will present a new 50-minute adaptation of Rossini's La Cenerentola for the 2023 Portland Opera to Go tour. This lively staging tells the story of Angelina (Cinderella) who longs for friendship and love and finds it in the most unexpected of places—a prince who is disguised as a servant. Her bumbling stepfather and her two self-centered stepsisters create havoc along the way, but love rules triumphant in this tale of kindness, friendship, and compassion. Full of whimsy, comedy, and delight, Cinderella is the perfect first opera for kids and adults alike. This adaptation of Cinderella is ideal for elementary school students, and has a modular scenery and age-appropriate staging.
